Under the 100-day campaign being run for TB eradication in the entire country, 108 percent success has been achieved in Mashobra block, and the matter has been sent to the government to declare 17 panchayats of this block as TB-free. This information was given by Anmol Raj Kaundal, senior officer of the TB-free campaign of IGMC, after inspecting the works done under the TB-free campaign in the villages of Dhali Bagda, Trahai, Nalta, and Peeran of Peeran, the last Panchayat of the Mashobra block. On this occasion, screening of senior citizens above 60 years was also done.
He said that the 100-day campaign has been started by the Government of India on 07 December, which will be completed on 24 December. Kaundal told that all senior citizens above 60 years of age should get tested for TB disease every three months. Free treatment facilities are available in all health centers for the treatment of TB. Apart from this, patients with kidney disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. should also be tested for TB disease from time to time. He said that last year 299 TB symptoms were found in the Kasampati constituency, which has become healthy after treatment.
Kaundal told that if a person has a cough, fever for more than two weeks, or is losing weight, blood in sputum, sweating, etc., then such a person should get tested in his nearest health institution. The CBnot machine is available in IGMC and DDU for testing TB disease.
Women health workers Reena Verma and Vandana Kapoor also administered life-saving vaccines to children of 0 to 5 years and pregnant women in Anganwadi centers Dhali Bagda, Trahai, Nalta, and Peeran. On this occasion, Asha worker Bela Verma, Sumna Devi, and workers of other Anganwadi centers were present.
