The professor accused of physically harassing two B.Tech students in IIT Mandi has been fired from his job. Following the report of the Internal Complaint Committee constituted to investigate the Yain harassment case, the Board of Governors (BOG) has taken action against the accused professor. According to the information, the case was handed over to ICC for investigation on the complaint of two B.Tech students. During investigation, the allegations made by the girl students were found to be true.
ICC had demanded to take strict action against the professor. After this the report of the case was placed in the BOG meeting. After this, the Chairman and other members of BOG took cognizance of this matter and decided to remove the professor from service. On the other hand, the professor has challenged the decision of BOG. The matter will now be sent to the President. IIT Mandi Registrar KS Pandey said that the professor accused of sexually harassing girl students was dismissed a month ago.
