The district reported five deaths due to Covid-related complications in the past one week, taking the toll to 1,155. The overall positive count in the district has touched 96,937 with 297 active cases, of which 294 patients are in home isolation.
Civil Surgeon Adrashpal Kaur held a meeting with the management of private hospitals yesterday and sought detailed information on ICU beds, ventilators, oxygen cylinders and ambulances at the L-2 private hospitals in the district. Officials said the private hospitals were instructed to charge government-mandated fee for treatment of Covid patients.
The administration has disbursed Rs 1.58 crore as ex gratia aid of Rs 50,000 to the families of Covid victims. Officials said around 180 families were yet to apply for the compensation.
