Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that providing the benefits of development to every section of the society is the priority of the state government. Sanjay Awasthi was addressing the gathering present in the ‘MLA Aapke Dwar Program’ organized in Gram Panchayat Sai of Solan today.
The MLA expressed grief over the extensive damage caused by the natural calamity in various parts of the state, especially in Mandi district. He said that this year too, many precious lives have been lost untimely due to the calamity. He said that the state government is continuously working in the affected areas and making efforts to provide relief to the affected people.
Sanjay Awasthi inaugurated the additional building of Government Secondary School Sai constructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh and the Sai to Patta ambulance road constructed at a cost of Rs 1.50 lakh. He also laid the foundation stone of Sehal to Bagi ambulance road to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.25 lakh.
The MLA said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, various schemes have been started for the development of rural areas so that the income of farmers and orchardists can be increased. He said that farmers and cattle rearers are benefiting extensively from the unexpected increase in the minimum support price of cow and buffalo milk. He said that the prices of milk will be increased further in future. The state government is making efforts to strengthen the agriculture-based economy by providing necessary relief to farmers, orchardists and cattle rearers.
He said that the minimum support price of natural turmeric has also been increased to ensure fair price for the hard work of the farmers. Now the minimum price for raw turmeric grown through natural farming has been fixed at Rs. 90 per kg.
Sanjay Awasthi said that to secure the future of the youth, the state government is making efforts to ensure access to quality education for all students. Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools to be established in all the assembly constituencies of the state will prove to be a milestone in this direction. He said that the state government is developing educational institutions as excellent institutions on a phased basis.
He said that Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana has been started by the state government. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to widows, destitute, divorced women and disabled parents for the education and welfare of their children. Under this scheme, a monthly grant of Rs 1000 is being provided to meet the education, health and nutrition related expenses of children below 18 years of age of eligible women and disabled parents. Apart from this, the government is also providing financial assistance to bear the expenses of tuition and hostel to children getting admission in graduation, post-graduation, diploma or professional courses. He said that support is being provided to destitute children under the Chief Minister Sukhashray Yojana started by the government. He urged everyone to ensure that information about this scheme reaches the eligible persons.
The MLA expressed gratitude to Jiya Lal, a resident of Sai Patta village for donating 10 Biswa land for the construction of the school building.
Sanjay Awasthi announced to give 02 lakh rupees for the construction work of Sai Patta Mahila Mandal Bhawan, one lakh rupees for the construction work of Sai-Jol-Balang connecting road, 11 thousand rupees each to Mahila Mandal Sai and Sai Patta for purchasing goods, 21 thousand rupees for Gram Sudhar Samiti Sai.
The MLA also announced to give Rs 2100 from his side to the students presenting the cultural programme.
Sanjay Awasthi listened to the problems of the people on this occasion and directed the concerned officials to resolve them immediately.
