Solan,
The Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management’s (SILB) Department of Biotechnology celebrated “International Human Rights Day.” The campaign’s theme was “Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.”
The ceremony began with the lighting of a lamp by SILB President Saroj Khosla and other staff members. Mrs. Khosla stated that we should not violate human rights and should not enable others to do so. She further said that rights and duties are two sides of the same coin, and that we must fulfil our social responsibilities appropriately so that no human being is deprived of their rights.
Dr. Shalini Sharma, Director, SILB said in a video message that we must understand the dignity of the individual, and not forget the right to health. Every individual has a right to stay healthy. Student speakers from the second and third years of the B.Sc. The biotechnology programme enlightened the audience by highlighting the current state of human rights. Students brought forward the issue of violations of human rights through a dance drama. Students were also sensitised about challenges to human rights. Heads of various departments were also present during the celebrations.
