*Four cultural evenings will be organized from 11th to 14th November, fair will be held till 30th November only*
The International Lavi Fair will be organized from November 11 to November 14, 2024. The meeting of the organizing committee of this fair was held in Rampur on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap. A detailed discussion was held in the meeting regarding the preparations for the four-day fair.
The fair will be organized at PG College Ground and cultural programs will be organized at Padma Senior Secondary School, Rampur Ground.
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will attend the inauguration of the fair as the chief guest on November 11 and state Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on November 14.
In the meeting, 7th Finance Commission Chairman Nand Lal said that everyone has given important suggestions regarding the preparations for the fair. We all have to play a leading role in keeping the historical importance of Lavi Fair alive. Transparency will be maintained at every level in organizing the fair.
Presiding over the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap said that like every time, this time also Lavi Fair will be celebrated with great enthusiasm. This fair will be kept completely clean. A separate plan is being made for this so that there is zero garbage. National and international level as well as regional and local artists will be provided a platform in the cultural evenings of the fair. It will be mandatory for the artists to be successful in the audition. This time, time will be given to certain artists in the fair every evening.
He said that in the meeting all the stakeholders took a decision on the demand of concluding the fair on the scheduled date. This time the fair will end on November 30, after which all the shops in the fair will be removed.
*Half Marathon will be organized in the fair*
This time too, a half marathon will be organized in the fair regarding anti-addiction, clean environment and environmental protection. Everyone from school children to senior citizens will get an opportunity to participate in this marathon.
*NCC cadets will provide services in traffic*
Part-time services of NCC cadets studying in PG College, Rampur will be taken to maintain the traffic system during the fair. Only those who are above 18 years of age will be allowed to provide services. Cadets will also be given honorarium. The college principal was instructed to prepare a list of such cadets and make it available to the SDM office.
*Four cultural evenings will be organized*
A cultural evening will be organized every evening at the International Lavi Fair. In such a situation, four evenings will be organised. “Bushhar Sandhya” will be organized on 11 November, MC Sandhya on 12 November and Lavi Sandhya on 13 and 14 November 2024.
*Horse exhibition will also be organized*
Horse exhibition will be organized by the Animal Husbandry Department from 4th to 6th November. In this, farmers from areas like Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti, Shimla etc. will participate in the horse exhibition.
*Organization of sports competitions*
Interstate volleyball at the fair
Competition will be organized. Badminton will also be included in this competition. One can stay away from addiction through sports. The organizing committee is trying to start the practice of other indoor games in the fair in future.
*Allotment of work*
Exhibitions will also be organized in the fair through various departments of the state government, including boards, corporations, semi-government undertakings and self-help groups. The responsibility of arranging the stage and seating in the fair was handed over to the SDM office, MC and BDO office. Exin NH, Exin B&R and BDO Rampur were given the responsibility of providing labor in the fair. Plot allotment in the fair ground will be done through the committee while allotment of dome and swing space and exhibition canopy will be done through MC Rampur. The arrangement for drinking water in the fair ground will be made by Jal Shakti Department. The responsibility of power supply will be of the Electricity Board and the Electrical Wing of the Public Works Department. Transport arrangements will be the responsibility of HRTC Rampur, traffic management and parking arrangements will be the responsibility of CDPO Rampur. The responsibility of cleanliness in the fair ground will be with the Municipal Council Rampur. Medical Superintendent of Khaneri Hospital will be responsible for providing health aid in the fair, stage and decoration in the fair will be with SDM office Rampur, PA system will be with District Public Relations Officer office Shimla, sound and light and furniture system in the fair will be with SDM office. Fire officer Rampur is responsible for fire fighting arrangement in the fair ground, souvenir publication, poster and invitation card is responsible for SDM office Rampur, stage maintenance and green room is responsible for Exin B&R Public Works Department, entry pass for cultural programs is through SDM Rampur office. Law and order in the fair will be the responsibility of the police.
District Council President Chandra Prabha Negi, City Council President Muskaan Negi, District Council members Trilok Bhaluni, Vimala Sharma, BDC Chairman Ashish Kayath and top officials of various departments and members of the trade association were present in the meeting.
