Himachal Pradesh cadre 1993 batch IPS officer Ashok Tiwari may be the next DGP of the police department. IPS officer Ashok Tiwari has recently returned from central deputation. Recently, the state government promoted four IPS officers and made them DGP. Three IPS officers of 1993 batch, Anurag Garg, Ritwik Rudra and Ashok Tiwari and 1994 batch IPS officer Rakesh Agarwal, were recently promoted to the post of DG by the state government. IPS officers Anurag Garg, Ritwik Rudra, Rakesh Agarwal are on deputation at the Center. While IPS officer Ashok Tiwari has returned to Himachal from central deputation.
IPS officer Ashok Tiwari was posted as IG in ITBP at the Center. IPS officer Ashok Tiwari has joined the Police Headquarters Shimla after returning from central deputation. Talking about Himachal cadre police officers, the senior most police officer among them is Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha of the 1989 batch. IPS officer Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha is serving as DGP, State CID. After Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha, there is 1990 batch IPS officer Shyam Bhagat Negi, who is on central deputation. After him is 1991 batch IPS officer Atul Verma, who is serving as DGP of the Himachal Pradesh Police Department. After him is Anurag Garg of 1993 batch. Ashok Tiwari and Ritwik Rudra are in the same batch. 30 years of service is necessary for the appointment of DGP.
