The Himachal Pradesh Government has ordered the transfer and posting of two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with immediate effect in public interest. The notification was issued by the Department of Home (Section-D) on February 28, 2026

According to the notification, Dr. Khushal Chand Sharma, IPS (HP:2012), who was serving as Commandant, 2nd Indian Reserve Battalion, Sakoh, District Kangra, and holding additional charge as Superintendent of Police, Special Task Force, Dharamshala Zone, has been appointed as Principal, Police Training College (PTC), Daroh, District Kangra. He will relieve Ms Soumya Sambasivan, IPS (HP:2010), Deputy Inspector General of Police (Northern Range), Dharamshala, from the additional charge of Principal, PTC Daroh.
Meanwhile, Shri Ashok Ratan, IPS (HP:2017), Superintendent of Police, District Kangra at Dharamshala, will hold the additional charge of Commandant, 2nd Indian Reserve Battalion, Sakoh, District Kangra, and Superintendent of Police, Special Task Force, Dharamshala Zone.
The orders have been issued on the recommendations of the Civil Services Board and approved by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
