Vinod Kumar (47), a resident of Wagli village, who had gone to Guwahati to undergo training as an ASI in (ITBP) under Dharamshala assembly, died due to cardiac arrest while on duty. The dead body of the soldier is likely to reach his native village by Friday. As soon as the news of the death of the soldier was received, a wave of mourning ran in the entire village.
Vinod Kumar was serving in Guwahati these days. Giving information, his younger brother said that he had gone for duty after taking leave about a month ago. Vinod Kumar had joined ITBP in around 2000. He is survived by his wife and two sons. Both sons are studying. The elder son is studying in Chandigarh and the younger son is studying in Dharamshala College.

Local Panchayat head Shalini and deputy head Sandeep Kamar told that Vinod Kumar was a person of friendly nature. The news has been received that he died due to heart failure while on duty last night. They are likely to be transported on Friday, after which they will be cremated with state honours.
