Due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, security has been tightened on the borders adjoining Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Now the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans have taken charge in sensitive border areas like the Langera check post and Sanghani police post, due to which this area seems to be turning into an impenetrable fort.
Providing unprecedented strength to the border security, ITBP jawans are not only deployed with their battalion, but Himachal Police Battalion jawans posted in local police posts and Special Police Officers (SPO) are also deployed with them. Now the security system in the border area of the district has been increased many times more than before and all the deployed jawans have been given strict instructions to remain alert at all times.
At present, 20 to 25 ITBP jawans are deployed at security posts and are continuously patrolling the border areas. If required, additional jawans can be called from the Chamba-based ITBP section to take over the front immediately, so that full preparedness can be ensured to deal with any emergency.
DSP Saluni Ranjan Sharma said that ITBP jawans have been deployed at Langera checkpost and Sanghani police post in the border area. ITBP, police battalion, police personnel posted in police stations and outposts and SPOs are patrolling the border area and keeping a close watch on every activity. He said that if required, more ITBP jawans can be called in the border areas.
