Solan, October 27, 2024: Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, took a dig at Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s two years in office, claiming he spent them “crying over financial crises” without starting any new programs. Thakur demanded the government provide a detailed account of the ₹30,000 crore loan taken over this period. He made these remarks after listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular “Mann Ki Baat” program with party officials and workers in Solan.
Thakur praised Modi’s address, particularly his focus on India’s achievements in animation and raising awareness about digital fraud. He called it the world’s most popular program, eagerly awaited by the people. In contrast, he criticized the current Himachal Pradesh government for failing to deliver on its promises, including job creation and public welfare schemes.
Jai Ram Thakur also expressed his condolences over the tragic road accident in Mandi district, where five lives were lost, and urged local officials to support the grieving families.
