Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that to ensure successful implementation of the schemes and programmes of the government, it is necessary to aware the masses about them so that maximum people could avail the benefit of the schemes. This was stated by the Chief Minister while virtually addressing the closing ceremony of the second round of Jan Bhagidari Se Sushasan-Himachal Ka Maha Quiz organized on the theme Industry and Investment at Baddi in Solan district today.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government has taken a unique initiative of organizing Jan Bhagidari Se Sushasan-Himachal Ka Maha Quiz by making apt use of technology in dissemination of information regarding public welfare schemes and programmes to the common masses. Under this, for the first time in Himachal Pradesh, an online competition based on the schemes of the Central and State Governments is being organized.
Jai Ram Thakur said that a large number of participants are ensuring their participation in the Maha Quiz. So far about 40 thousand participants have participated in the quiz. In the first round, 23467, in the second round 14407 and in the third round, more than 14 thousand participants have ensured their participation in this Maha Quiz.
While expressing happiness, the Chief Minister said that people are getting a great opportunity to get acquainted with the schemes of the government through this quiz. It would generate more awareness amongst the people and encourage people to avail the benefit of the government schemes.
The Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh has a favorable environment for investment. Himachal is a power surplus state with better law and order and the state government has simplified various procedures for the investors. The ranking of Ease of Doing Business in the state has increased from 16th place to 7th place. Global Investors Meet was organized in Dharamsala in 2019 to promote industries in the state, in which MoUs worth Rs. 96 thousand were signed and investment worth rupees crores have been grounded. He said that the state has also established its identity as a pharma hub and 45 percent of the medicines of Asia are being exported from Himachal Pradesh. Effective steps are being taken to provide employment to the youths of this small hilly state despite fewer resources.
The State Government has started Mukhya Mantri Swavalamban Yojana (MMSY) to provide self-employment opportunities to the youths of the state. Under the scheme, the state government was also providing subsidy on loan to establish industry. An additional relaxation of up to 5 years has been given to women in the upper age limit to avail the benefit of the scheme. MMSY has shown encouraging results and more than 11000 people have got employment opportunities through this.
Industries Minister Bikram Singh welcomed the Chief Minister on this occasion. While addressing the people, he said that the State Government is laying special emphasis on bringing positive changes in the lives of the people of the State along with ensuring rapid and balanced development of the State. The State Government is making every effort to ensure sensitive, transparent and accountable governance in Himachal Pradesh.
MLA Paramjit Singh Pammi and Lakhwinder Rana, former MLA KL Thakur, Vice Chairman of Jal Prabandhan Board Darshan Singh Saini, Vice Chairman of Gau Sewa Aayog Ashok Sharma, participants of Maha Quiz and other dignitaries were also present in the event organized at Baddi.
