Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh, Sunder Singh Thakur met the delegation of Japan headed by Saito Mitsunori (Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency) in New Delhi. Nagesh Kumar Guleria (Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Project Director JICA Forestry Project) was also present along with the Chief Parliamentary Secretary, he apprised the representatives of Japan about the JICA Forestry Project in Himachal Pradesh.
JICA is working for the upliftment of developing countries across the world and is supporting various developmental activities in India. In this episode, he interacted with the representatives of JICA on various developmental issues of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is a hilly state and considering its geographical conditions, Shri Sundar Singh Thakur invited the representatives of JICA to work in the field of environment, tourism, disaster management, renewable energy. Various projects are going on in Himachal Pradesh under JICA.
Vineet Sarin, Chief Development Specialist, Japan International Cooperation Agency (Government of Japan) highly appreciated the work being done under the Himachal Pradesh Forest Ecosystem Management and Livelihood Improvement Project and in view of the immense success of all these projects in Himachal, JICA The representatives showed interest to work in other areas also with the cooperation of the people of Himachal Pradesh and assured all possible help.
