Waknaghat, May
A vibrant wave of innovation and creativity swept across Jaypee University of Information Technology as the university hosted the main day of Innovate to Excel – 2025 on May 03, 2025. The event, organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with ACM, IEEE, TIEDC, SIAM, CSA, Enkindle, ICP, CEC and TMP-JYC, brought students together to explore technology, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving through a series of competitive and collaborative events.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 50 students representing various universities across Northern India, transforming the campus into a hub of intercollegiate collaboration and talent exchange. The morning began with high-intensity competitions including Hacking Hills, a 24-hour hackathon where students coded through the clock to develop real-world tech solutions, and Hard-Wired, a hardware integration challenge that tested engineering innovation and application. The inaugural ceremony set the tone for a day filled with energy, insight, and engagement. A keynote session was delivered by Dr. Surender Singh Saini, Senior Principal Scientist at ISTC-CSIO, Chandigarh, who shared compelling perspectives on international research collaboration and the role of youth in driving technological progress.
Adding a creative dimension to the day, students participated in Lenscape, a photography competition capturing moments of campus life. Meanwhile, other competitions such as a tower-building challenge for civil engineering enthusiasts sparked engagement and excitement. In the afternoon, a power-packed panel discussion featuring professionals like Mr. Ekant Aggarwal, Mr. Amit Madan, Mr. Hitesh Gulati, and Mr. Anmol Jamwal offered deep insights into entrepreneurship, funding, and the journey of building a startup. Selected students then took part in The Boardroom, where they pitched their ideas directly to the panel in a realistic startup-meet simulation. As evening approached, Hard-Wired evaluations wrapped up and the hackathon pressed on into the night, with students working persistently on innovative prototypes under the campus lights.
The day stood as a true testament to the innovative spirit and resilience of the student community—driven by passion, collaboration, and the will to make a difference.
