The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) successfully organized a seminar on ” National Education Policy and Indian Knowledge System ” at Dhauladhar Campus-1 of Himachal Pradesh Central University. In this, Prof. Pradeep Kumar, Dean Academics was present as the keynote speaker. Director IQAC Prof. Mohinder Singh participated in this seminar as the chief guest. Dr. Archana Katoch , Dean , School of Journalism , Mass Communication and New Media welcomed the keynote speaker and the chief guest.
During the symposium, the keynote speaker Prof. Pradeep Kumar , Dean Academics delivered a insightful lecture on the significance of National Education Policy- 2020 and the role of integrating Indian knowledge system in modern education.
In which he emphasized the need for multidisciplinary education and maintaining India’s rich educational heritage in the contemporary education structure. After this lecture , the chief guest Dr. Mohinder , Director , IQAC, highlighted the implementation strategies of the National Education Policy and the role of quality assurance in higher education. He explained how institutions can adopt traditional knowledge systems while ensuring academic excellence and global relevance.
Dr. Archana Katoch , Dean , School of Journalism , Mass Communication and New Media, discussed the role of media in raising awareness about the National Education Policy and preserving India’s intellectual traditions. She said that digital platforms and mass communication can play an important role in reshaping the education system.
The coordinator of this seminar was Prof. Aditya Kant , who played an important role in conducting this event smoothly and the members of the department Dr. Harsh Mishra , Shri Harikrishnan B and Dr. Monica were also present on this occasion. Faculty members , researchers and students participated enthusiastically in it. An interactive session was also organized at the end of the program , in which the participants discussed the practical aspects of the National Education Policy and the inclusion of traditional knowledge in the modern curriculum. In the end , Dr. Harsh Mishra presented the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all the speakers, organizers and participants.
