On the occasion of Hindi Diwas 2025, The Literary and Debating Club of JUIT Youth Club (JYC), organized its annual debate competition “तर्क संग्राम” on 16th September 2025 at CR-3. The event, held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, was inaugurated by Dean Academics Prof. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Brig. (Retd) R. K. The motion for debate was “क्या हिंदी की अनिवार्यता भारत के विविधतापूर्ण स्वरूप के खिलाफ है?” (Is the imposition of Hindi against the diverse nature of India?), with participants divided into two categories—पक्ष (for the motion) and विपक्ष (against the motion). A total of 22 students registered, out of which 20 were shortlisted: 12 spoke in favour and 10 against.
As per the format, each speaker had three minutes to present arguments in Hindi, followed by audience questioning. The competition was conducted with strict adherence to rules ensuring discipline, research-based arguments, and respectful dialogue. Winners in both the categories were awarded with prize money, mementoes and certificates.
The debate witnessed thought-provoking perspectives from both sides, reflecting the cultural and linguistic richness of India. With active participation, structured arguments, and healthy discussion, the event successfully celebrated Hindi Diwas while promoting awareness, critical thinking, and respect for India’s diversity.
