Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh Council for Science Technology and Environment (HIMCOSTE) organized a two-day “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness Programme under National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM 2.0)” from March 15-16, 2023, at JUIT, Solan.
The Programme was inaugurated by Dean Academics and Research (Prof. Ashok Gupta) and IPR Cell members (Prof. Shruti Jain, Dr. Aman Sharma, Dr. Saurabh Rawat) of the JUIT.
The event began on March 15, 2023, with a session on intellectual property rights conducted by Mr. Rajender Kumar Nangia, Invention Guru, and Ms. Monika, Patent Attorney at Aksh IP Associates. Mr. Rajender Kumar Nangia, in his session, highlighted the importance of intellectual property rights and how it can benefit individuals and organizations. He discussed the different forms of intellectual property rights like patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs. He shared his knowledge and expertise with the attendees, making the session interactive and informative. Ms. Monika, Patent Attorney at Aksh IP Associates, provided an overview of the patent filing process and the various requirements for filing a patent application. She also discussed the challenges involved in patent prosecution and how to overcome them. The attendees were keenly interested and actively participated in the session.The session was attended by students, researchers, and faculty members, who appreciated the efforts made by JUIT and HIMCOSTE to increase awareness and knowledge of intellectual property rights among stakeholders.
The event aimed to create awareness about intellectual property rights and provide a platform for students, researchers, and faculty members to learn about the various forms of intellectual property rights and their significance. The attendees appreciated the expertise and experiences shared by the speakers, making the event successful.The second day of the event will take place on March 16, 2023, and will feature a session by Ms. Nekita Kumari, Examiner of Patents & Designs and NIPAM Officer, who will discuss the role of NIPAM in promoting intellectual property rights in India.
