Jaypee University of Information Technology, Solan, organized a trek and Cleanliness Drive at Maa Tara Devi Temple on 26th March 2023 with NCC cadets and a few other volunteers. The drive was to Tara Devi temple and the surrounding area. On the university bus, the trip commenced with Bhajans and everyone was high in spirits and energy in the morning.
JUIT NCC Cadets had their breakfast on the bus before commencing the trek up to the temple. All visited the temple first and got the blessings of Goddesses and got to experience the Dham at the temple as well. Tara Devi temple was followed by a visit to the Shiv temple and on the way back down through the mountains, we commenced the Swacchta Abhiyan. The students divided into teams and covered a lot of the mountain area surrounding the temples and gathered scattered trash in the form of wrappers and bottles. It pollutes the environment and scenery of the beautiful mountains and cadets brought it back with them to be disposed of properly. It is not only dangerous for animals and water sources and but also for the humanities.
CTO Dr. Amit Kumar Jakhar and PI Jai lal sir accompanied there students and played an immense role in the Swacchta abhiyan both by collecting trash themselves as well as motivating cadets and volunteers to give their best for the social cause.
Everyone has a great experience and is able to contribute in social services to the best of their ability.
