Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, organized a Workshop cum Seminar focusing on the reforms in secondary and higher education post the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP). The event aimed to facilitate a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration among educational stakeholders, particularly welcoming Principals from various schools across Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to share their insights and experiences.
The major objectives of this workshop were to discuss the key reforms introduced in the NEP and to understand the implications of NEP on secondary and higher education. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof R K Sharma, Vice chancellor, JUIT along with Registrar and dean of students Major General (Retd) Rakesh Bassi, Dean (A & R), Prof AK Gupta, along with Dr. Rajesh Rana and Mr. Dinesh Sharma, Chairman, Mera Bharat Trust.
General Bassi gave a detailed overview of JUIT along with its fascinating journey and crucial characteristics. VC sir mentioned that we should give a special learning culture to our students with a positive approach. There were three keynote talks commenced with a significance of the New Education Policy and Cyber Security and their potential impact on the educational landscape in India. These talks were delivered by Prof S K Khah, Controller of Examinations and Incharge, IQAC, JUIT; Dr. Rajesh Rana, Chandigarh and Prof R K Bajaj, HoD, Department of Mathematics, JUIT. Principals from schools across Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, UP and Haryana shared their experiences and insights on how the NEP reforms could be effectively implemented at the grassroots level. They discussed challenges, opportunities, and strategies for adapting to the new policy framework. Intermittent insights were also shared by VC sir. The event provided ample networking opportunities for educational stakeholders to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas for enhancing the quality of education in the region.
A campus tour to all the principals were also organized where they were taken to various departments of the JUIT. Departments of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Computer Science and Engineering & Information technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering to mention a few. This event was coordinated by Dr. Ankush Tanta and Mr. Praveen Kumar both from Admission cell, JUIT. Program was conducted by Dr. Tanmay Gupta. Ankush, Praveen and the whole JUIT fraternity extends the gratitude to all the participants and speakers for their valuable contributions towards making the Workshop cum Seminar a success.
