A team from Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat has successfully completed the Phase 1 of the prestigious Surya Dronathon 2025 organised by the Indian Army and Drone Federation of India (DFI) and has now been selected for Phase 2, which will be held from 18th to 24th August 2025 at Sumdo Village, Spiti, Himachal Pradesh.


The team comprises of Aryaman Chander Katoch (Civil Engineering, Former NCC Under Officer, Team Leader), Sambhav Thakur (Electronics & Communication, Embedded & RF Systems), Parth Gupta (Electronics & Communication, Calibration, Hardware & Control Systems), Anmol Thakur (Computer Science & Engineering, Software Integration) and Lalakpathang Lhouvum (Civil Engineering, Structural Applications).


This achievement demonstrates the innovative potential of JUIT students and underlines the University’s commitment to providing experiential learning and promoting opportunities at the national level.
