Chief Minister inaugurates and lays foundation stone of 37 developmental projects worth Rs. 785 crore 32 lakh
1500 crores spent on various projects in the district during the tenure of the present state government – Kuldeep Singh Pathania
Speaker Assembly Kuldeep Singh Pathania today presided over the closing ceremony of International Minjar Fair-2025 at the historic Chamba Chaugan.
On this occasion, on behalf of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the Assembly Speaker unveiled plaques of 37 developmental projects related to various departments costing Rs. 785 crore 32 lakh and formally laid their foundation stone and inaugurated them.
During this period, he also gave prizes to the participants who won the Minjar Fair sports competitions.
In his address during the programme, Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that the Chief Minister’s visit to Chamba has been postponed due to bad weather, and the Chief Minister has authorized him to complete all the formalities of the closing ceremony.
While extending his best wishes for the successful organization of the International Minjar Fair-2025, the Assembly Speaker said that in order to ensure sustainable and inclusive development in accordance with the geographical conditions of the aspiring district Chamba, it should get proportionate revenue share from various power projects being operated in the district.
Kuldeep Singh Pathania, while referring to the ongoing developmental projects in Chamba district, said that during the tenure of the present state government, an amount of Rs 1500 crore has been spent in the district under various government-run schemes.
He described the decision of the state government to increase the income limit to Rs 3 lakh for eligibility in government jobs on compassionate grounds under social security as a welcome step. He said that about 6 thousand youth of the state will benefit from this.
The Assembly Speaker also mentioned the construction of Chamba-Chuwari tunnel in his address and also said that the expansion of the tunnel network in the district is also important from a strategic point of view.
MLA Neeraj Nayyar, in his address during the program, congratulated the fair organizing committee and all the district residents for the successful organization of the International Minjar Fair-2025. Referring to the developmental projects going on under the Chamba Assembly constituency, Neeraj Nayyar said that the matter would be placed before the Chief Minister to start heli taxi services from Chamba soon. He also requested the local people for cooperation in the upgradation work of the Art Center built in the historic Chaugan of Chamba.
Chairman District Agriculture Produce and Marketing Committee Lalit Thakur, Yashwant Khanna former candidate Churah, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, Additional District Magistrate Amit Mehra, SDM Chamba Priyanshu Khati, Assistant Commissioner Aparajita Chandel, Chief Engineer Public Works Vikas Sood, Electricity Devendra Singh, Superintending Engineer Diwakar Pathania, Rajesh Mogra, Rajiv Thakur, various departmental officers along with local people were present on the occasion.
