Special team of Bilaspur Police has recovered 3 kg 39 grams of hashish from a taxi driver during the blockade. According to the information, a special team of police had set up a block near Karmala on Chandigarh-Manali via Swarghat road on Monday night. During this time a taxi (HP 01K-9360) came from Bilaspur.
The police stopped the concerned taxi for inspection. The taxi driver got scared after seeing the police in front, due to which the police became suspicious of him. When the police searched the taxi, a carry bag was found under the driver’s seat. When the police opened the carry bag, charas was found in it. When the police weighed it, it turned out to be 3 kg 39 grams.
The accused was identified as 26-year-old Ajay Kumar, resident of village Sihan, post office Bajahara, tehsil Sainj and district Kullu. Police arrested the accused on charges of charas and registered a case against him in Swarghat police station. Efforts are being made by the police to know where the accused was taking this charas to sell and who else are involved in this case. The matter has been confirmed by DSP Bilaspur Madan Dhiman.
