During the seven-day NSS camp going on at L R B.Ed. Institute Solan, the fifth day’s activity was started by NSS Coordinator Megha Thakur with a computer workshop. In which Shivani Jain, spokesperson computer, gave a practical lecture to the NSS volunteers explaining the importance of technology through hardware and software techniques. In which the volunteers understood the importance of responsible and future-thinking technology. Taking this forward, to empower the girl students especially, self-defense techniques were taught by the team of Anshika and Piyush. Anshika is a national-level and Piyush is an international-level Kudo athlete.
In the second session, under the leadership of Educational Director Dr. PP Sharma, former Director Dr. RP Nanta and Principal Dr. Nisha, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Government of India, went door-to-door in LR Institute and Kyar village under the theme “Ghar Sampark” and made the villagers aware of cleanliness. In which various schemes being run by the government, like the National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem, also known as the “Namaste” scheme, were discussed. The objective of which is to prevent unsafe cleaning and promote cleaning with safe rules through trained and certified cleaning staff.
All the NSS volunteers of the first and second years and teachers of the B.Ed. department were present in this. Principal of the department Dr. Nisha gave the message to the NSS volunteers to clean regularly and keep the surrounding environment clean.
In the evening, during the camp at the institute, as per the instructions of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Kinnauri Naati was presented by B.Ed volunteers under the theme “Jaiti Jai Bharatam” under folk and tribal dance. Under the cultural program, other volunteers entertained everyone by presenting colorful Punjabi dance.
Today, at the end of the camp, Principal Dr. Nisha said that NSS teaches social service and the trainees of our LRB B.Ed institute will also be able to contribute better to the society by getting quality education from here. During this, all the teachers and non-teachers of the B.Ed institute were also present.
