A colorful fresher’s party ‘Sangam’ was organized at Lakshya B.Ed College, Manjyat, to welcome the new trainees.
On this occasion, Dr. Hemraj Kaushik, recipient of the National Teacher Award, former principal, and renowned Hindi litterateur and critic, graced the ceremony with his dignified presence as the chief guest.
Upon the arrival of the chief guest at the college premises, Dr. Prem Gupta, President of Lakshya Educational Institute, and Director Akash Gupta, on behalf of the Lakshya family, honored him by presenting a memento. Following this, Dr. Hemraj Kaushik formally inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the new trainees, Chief Guest Dr. Hemraj Kaushik said that teacher training is not merely a process of obtaining a degree, but a responsibility of nation-building. He said that an ideal teacher is one who imparts not only knowledge but also values, ethics, and human values to the students. He urged the trainees to make discipline, continuous learning, and innovation an integral part of their lives. He also said that in today’s era, a teacher must maintain a balance between technology and sensitivity.
Presiding over the program, Principal of Lakshya Educational Institute, Vibha Singh, welcomed the chief guest and said that the objective of the ‘Sangam’ program is to create a harmonious environment between new and old trainees. She said that Lakshya Institute has continuously strived to ensure that every trainee who graduates from here not only becomes a skilled teacher but also establishes their identity in society as a responsible citizen.
In her address, Principal Dr. Vibha Singh said that the fresher’s party is a powerful medium to boost the confidence of the new students and provide a platform for their talent. She apprised the trainees of the academic traditions of the institute and wished them a bright future.
The colorful cultural program presented by the trainees was the main attraction of the ceremony. The students captivated the audience with group dances, folk dances, solo songs, poetry recitations, and short plays. The performances based on Himachali culture received special appreciation from the guests present.
On this occasion, Hitesh was chosen as Mr. Fresher and Kavita as Miss Fresher, while Manan was selected as Mr. Personality and Archana as Miss Personality.
The event was attended by Dr. Kusum Gupta, Principal of Lakshya Convent School, Manjyat, Veena Gupta, Principal of Lakshya Public School, Arki, along with all the teachers, staff members of the college, and a large number of trainees. The program concluded with a vote of thanks.
