Hamirpur, November 7:
Senior state BJP spokesperson and former Sujanpur MLA Rajendra Rana has leveled serious allegations against Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and his allies of ruining the state, increasing loan brokerage, and plundering valuable land. In a statement issued here, Rajendra Rana said that Himachal is witnessing the worst form of “land mafia rule” under the Sukhu government. Public works are not being done, development projects are on hold, and central funds are being grossly misused. The Chief Minister and his associates are now solely engaged in the buying and selling of valuable land and the real estate game.
Rajendra Rana directly questioned the Chief Minister: How did the Chief Minister’s circle of friends suddenly acquire property worth billions after the Congress government was formed? Who purchased the land near Hamirpur Medical College and for how much? Who purchased 72 bighas of land belonging to a senior Congress leader in Mashobra for 100 crores? Whose name was more than 100 kanals of land transferred in Shahpur? Which leader’s flats and hotels are being built in Fagu? The Chief Minister should make the answer public.
Rana said that over the past three years, brokerage, land mafia networks, and land dealing have flourished under the patronage of the Chief Minister and his close associates. The public is buckling under the burden of inflation and debt, contractors are struggling to get paid, but a select few in the corridors of power are becoming billionaires. The government is repeatedly begging the central government to increase its debt limit and has already burdened the state with a debt of ₹40,000 crore.
He said that the nine leaders who left the Congress party and joined the BJP have witnessed this open loot with their own eyes and have left the Congress for this reason. Today, the entire state understands that Himachal is not ruled by development, but by Sukhu and his circle of allies, driven by plunder, brokerage, and profiteering.
