Following a huge landslide off the hill, there is a sense of dread in Darmeda hamlet in the Sainj region of the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. 60 residents from 14 households in the community evacuated their homes and sought refuge in relatives’ homes in safer locations as a precaution. The impacted families will be accommodated in Ropa Rest House by the authorities.
This place had a landslide on Friday. On the other side, Panchayat Pradhan Bhagat Ram and Sainj Tehsildar Ramesh Kumar arrived on the scene to assess the situation. The government has urged citizens to avoid dangerous and hilly areas and to get in touch with them in the event of an emergency.
