The Department of Botany hosted a guest lecture for postgraduate students at the Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management (SILB).
The guest speaker was Professor J.M. Julka, Director of Planning at Shoolini University.
Prof. Julka contributed significantly to the fields of animal taxonomy, evolution and biogeography, biomonitoring, aquatic ecology, and soil biology. He has numerous research and review articles published in prestigious international publications and has attended numerous national and international conferences. Prof. Julka spoke about the “International Codes of Botanical and Zoological Nomenclature and the Concept of Type Specimens.” He encouraged students to pursue their education in the subject of taxonomy. Prof. Julka also participated in an interactive session with the students. Mrs. Saroj Khosla, President of SILB, and Dr. Shalini Sharma, Director of SILB, felicitated the guest speaker. Dr. Mamta Singh Pathania, Head of the Department of Botany, Dr. Kranti Thakur, Dr. Arti Thakur, and Botany Department students attended the session.
