The process of heavy rains and destruction is still going on in Himachal Pradesh. Meteorological Center Shimla has issued an alert for lightning and thunderstorms in the remaining 10 districts except Lahul-Spiti and Kinnaur. Light to moderate rains are expected in some places in these areas.
On Sunday, where the day started with the sunshine, after a few hours, there was a thick cloud in the sky, causing a sudden change in the weather. Due to heavy rains and landslides, a total of 866 roads including 3 national highways are still closed in the state. These include NH-03, NH-05 and 305. The work of opening these roads is going on, but due to continuous rains, it is facing difficulties.
Electricity-water problem and increased loss
The disaster has also caused heavy damage to the infrastructure of the state. 1572 transformer failure has stalled power supply in many areas. Apart from this, 389 drinking water schemes have also been affected, causing people to face shortage of drinking water. From June 20 to September 6 in the current monsoon season, the state has suffered a huge loss of more than Rs 4,079 crore.
Heavy loss of life and property
Disasters in this monsoon season have also caused heavy loss of life and property. So far 366 people have died and 41 people are still missing. 1,984 pets and 26,955 chickens and mausolen have also been killed in the disaster.
Most affected districts
Kangra district has suffered the maximum loss in the state, where a loss of Rs 1,318.93 crore has been recorded. After this, there has been a loss of Rs 1,263.64 crore in Mandi, 1,097.82 crore in Chamba and Rs 889.14 crore in Una. This figure shows what extent the disaster has caused havoc in different parts of the state.
