A two-day Sports Meet 2026 organized by the B.Tech Department of LR Institute of Engineering & Technology (LRET), LR Group of Institutes, Solan, concluded with great enthusiasm, energy and sportsmanship.
The event witnessed the presence of Managing Director of LR Education Trust Ms. Shachi Singh, Academic Director Dr. P. P. Sharma, Principal Pharmacy Mr. Avneet Gupta, Principal LR Polytechnic Dr. Kanchan Bala Jaswal, HOD B.Tech Department Mr. Nishant Thakur, HOD Management Department Dr. Shweta Sandhu, Principal HMCT Dr. Suresh Chauhan, Mr. Hussain Zaidi (Deputy Director, Marketing & PR) along with faculty members and students of the institute.
During the two-day sports meet, students enthusiastically participated in a variety of sports competitions including cricket, kabaddi, basketball, badminton, chess, table tennis, powerlifting, athletics, volleyball, arm wrestling and carrom. Participants showcased excellent teamwork, competitive spirit and sporting talent.
Addressing the students, Managing Director Ms. Shachi Singh said that sports activities play a vital role in the overall development of students and help strengthen them both physically and mentally.
Academic Director Dr. P. P. Sharma emphasized that such events help develop discipline, teamwork and leadership qualities among students while encouraging them to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Students who performed exceptionally well in various competitions were awarded medals and certificates.

Kabaddi (Girls): Winner – EE/CSE, Runner-up – Civil Engineering
Basketball: Winner – CSE, Runner-up – 1st Year (CSE, AI, EE, CE)
Badminton (Girls): Winner – Civil Engineering
Chess: Winner (Boys) – 1st Year, Winner/Runner-up (Girls) – CSE
Table Tennis: Winner – CSE
Powerlifting: Winner – Electrical Engineering
Athletics (100m Race): Winner – Civil Engineering, Runner-up – Electrical Engineering
Volleyball: Girls Winner – EE/CSE, Boys Runner-up – Civil Engineering
Arm Wrestling: Winner – Electrical Engineering
Carrom: Winner (Boys) – EE, Winner (Girls) – Civil Engineering
The event concluded on a high note, celebrating sportsmanship, talent and team spirit, while providing students a platform to showcase their abilities and understand the importance of discipline and teamwork.
