Leader of Opposition appeals to people to repair roads before apple season
Mandi: Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur visited the disaster affected areas and reviewed the relief work and helped the affected families. He said that the roads in the disaster affected areas have not been restored yet. The apple season is about to start. In such a situation, it has become a big challenge to transport the produce of the orchards which have survived the disaster to the market. For this, not only the main road but also the link road will have to be opened on time. The efforts of the government to open the roads are still inadequate. To speed up this work, the Leader of Opposition has requested the JCB machine owners of the state to help. He appealed to the people and said that whoever has machines should help us and use them to open the roads in the disaster affected area. We will bear the expenses on the oil of the machines etc. With this kind of cooperation, the work of restoration of roads in the disaster area will be done on a war footing.
The Leader of Opposition also said that seeing the current situation, many people have also talked to us about helping in opening the road at their own level. I welcome with open heart those people who want to install machines at their own expense. I also thank them for standing with us in times of trouble. He said that even if we get the machines, we will put in all our efforts to open the roads by putting fuel. Some such people have still come forward who have helped after seeing the situation. He said that keeping in mind the apple season, we have to open all the roads very soon and if we get the support of the people in this way, then all the roads can be restored very soon.
Jairam Thakur said that some people are taking advantage of the generosity of the donors in the name of disaster affected people . Therefore, donors are requested to do verification so that the disaster relief reaches the affected people in true sense. For this, the administration or our help can be taken. Many donors contacted us and expressed their desire to help financially for the rehabilitation of the affected people. We have told them that you sign the cheque and fill the amount as per your wish and give it directly to the affected people in your presence with our coordination. If the donors want, we will fill the names in those cheques and make the cheques available to the affected people and will also provide the list of the affected people to whom your money was given. Many people have entrusted this work to us with trust. Expressing gratitude to all the donor angels, he requested that the donations reach the affected people. For this, the donors must do verification.
