The head teacher of Garadigad Primary School, located in the Chail Chowk Education Block of the Gohar subdivision in Mandi district, arrived at school in an inebriated state. The incident occurred while students were taking exams.
The teacher’s condition was so severe that he was unable to stand properly, and he had injuries on his face and under his eyes, which were bleeding. Upon receiving information about the incident, many villagers and parents of children rushed to the school. They also filmed a video of the teacher at the scene, which is now rapidly going viral on social media.
School Management Committee President Gushal Singh informed Panchayat Deputy Head Santosh Kumar about the incident. The Panchayat Deputy Head arrived at the scene and assessed the situation. They immediately informed the Primary Education Block Officer, Chail Chowk, and the Gohar police, but no concrete action has been taken.
Panchayat Deputy Pradhan Santosh Kumar stated that this teacher has been coming to school drunk on several occasions in the past, and complaints have been filed with the department, but each time the matter has been ignored. Local parents are deeply angered by this incident.
They have demanded the administration and government take immediate, strict action against the accused teacher. Primary Education Block Officer Devendra Dharmani confirmed the incident and stated that further action will be taken after an on-the-spot investigation.
Villagers have made a video of the drunk teacher and circulated it on social media, which has drawn criticism from people for the arbitrariness and negligence of government employees.
Gohar SDM Vichitra Singh Thakur stated that the matter of the teacher coming to school drunk has been brought to their attention. An investigation has been ordered, and strict action will be taken against the teacher as per the law.
Demand for Teacher’s Suspension

Meanwhile, Deputy District Education Officer Vijay Gupta stated that the matter has come to the department’s attention. The Block Education Officer, Chachiot-2, has been asked to investigate the matter and submit a report. Action will be taken as per the law. If the teacher is found guilty, he will not be spared. Such an act is not tolerable under any circumstances.
