A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Mandi city of Himachal Pradesh. The body of Rakesh Thakur, a 29-year-old judicial employee working in Mandi District Court, was found hanging from a noose in his rented room. The incident took place at his residence on Jail Road. This news has created a sensation in the entire area.
According to information received from the police, Rakesh Thakur (29), son of Joginder, a resident of Napohta of Post Office Luhari village under Multhan subdivision of Kangra district, was working in Mandi Court. He was doing his job while staying in a rented room in Mandi. He was alone in his room on Sunday night. When a friend of his came to call him on Monday morning, he knocked on the door, but there was no response from inside. When there was no response even after calling repeatedly, the friend peeped inside the room from the ventilator. He was shocked to see the scene inside – Rakesh’s body was hanging from the fan.
The panicked friend immediately informed the landlord. The landlord informed the police with the help of the local councilor. The police team that reached the spot broke the door in the presence of family members, where Rakesh was found hanging from the fan latch with a plastic rope. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot, due to which the reason behind this incident is not clear. In the initial investigation, the family members have also not expressed any suspicion on anyone. However, the police is seriously investigating every aspect.
Mandi Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma said that the police has taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
The real cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report comes. He also said that the police is investigating the matter thoroughly and investigation is going on from every possible angle so that the mystery of this mysterious death can be solved.
