School of Journalism and Mass communication at Shoolini University organised a Masterclass on script writing by acclaimed story and screenplay writer Ms. Jyoti Kapoor.
Among Jyoti’s recent hit films are Badhaai Ho, Good Newz and Dawat-e-ishq.
The Director of Journalism and Mass Communication Mr Vipin Pubby introduced the speaker to the audience. He also shared his views on the importance of different genres’ of writing for the students of journalism.
Ms Jyoti Kapoor shared her experiences with students and talked about how to write stories from real events of life. She also shared with students that every film delivers a social message whether through comedy or action. She gave some tips on how to write scripts for different genres of Indian cinema. An FTII graduate Ms. Kapoor talked about the role of the censors board in the clearance of the script.
Faculty members of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication Ms. Ranjna Thakur and Dr. Nisha kapoor were also presented in the session. The session ended with a lively question answer round from the students which were answered frankly with Ms. Jyoti Kapoor.
