Intern at MMU Medical College loses control of vehicle near Sultanpur; police begin probe

An MBBS doctor died in a tragic road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district in the early hours of Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Varun Joshi, son of Yograj Joshi, a resident of Rakkar Colony in Una.
According to police, Varun Joshi was undergoing internship at MMU Medical College in Sultanpur. He had completed his MBBS from Ukraine and was currently serving as a trainee doctor.
The accident occurred around 3:20 am when Varun was driving his Thar SUV on the Sultanpur road. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge on the Sultanpur-Madighat route.
Hearing the loud crash, nearby residents rushed to the spot and took him to the medical college in an injured condition, where doctors declared him dead.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered and the body has been sent for postmortem. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom in the area.
