District level seminar organized on the occasion of National Press Day

On the occasion of National Press Day, a district level program was organized today in the auditorium of the Deputy Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Devgan.

While wishing National Press Day, the Deputy Commissioner said that media is an integral part of democracy.
He said that the freedom of media is reflected in the strength of the Indian democratic system.
Despite many challenges in reporting, the media has been discharging its responsibilities with complete honesty and transparency.
Apoorva Devgan said that in the present scenario, ‘Artificial Intelligence’ has created many challenges for the media personnel along with the facilities in discharging their work.
He also stressed on the need to check all the important aspects before communicating the news while using Artificial Intelligence based services in news compilation.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, participating in the program as a special guest, expressed his views on Media in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and also shared his experiences with media personnel.
In the program, senior journalist BK Parashar informed about the important role of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Himachal Pradesh Information and Public Relations Department in the development and expansion of media along with the theme of the seminar.
Yogesh Mahendru, editor of daily newspaper Chamba Express, also expressed his views on Artificial Intelligence and informed about the challenges being faced by the media personnel.
President Press Club Chamba Deepak Sharma proposed vote of thanks.
During this, various media personnel working at the district level expressed their views on the theme.
District Public Relations Officer Khem Chauhan, while welcoming Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Devgan, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav and all the media persons present, shared important information regarding the Press Council of India and the organization of National Press Day.
