Like every year, this year to the district-level Independence Day celebrations will be organized at the historic Thodo ground in Solan. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma while presiding over a meeting organized in this regard.
Manmohan Sharma said that the chief guest will first of all pay emotional tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs on behalf of the grateful people of the state and the district at the Kargil Shaheed Smarak. He directed the municipal corporation officials to complete the cleaning, decoration and other necessary preparations of the Shaheed Smarak Sthal and Thodo Maidan in time.
The chief guest will hoist the flag at Thodo ground at 11.00 a.m. There will be a march past by the contingents of police, home guards and NCC and NSS Scouts and Guides from various schools.
He said that on this occasion, employees and others doing excellent work will also be honored. All departments will have to provide the list of excellent employees to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Solan by August 09, 2025. He said that cultural programs will also be organized on this occasion. He said that there should be diversity in the cultural programs presented before the chief guest.
The Deputy Commissioner directed various departments to ensure timely settlement of the assigned responsibilities for the successful organization of the program. He said that in view of the rain, the ground as well as the Municipal Corporation auditorium should be kept ready for the program so that all the work is completed successfully. He issued detailed guidelines regarding the program to the Health and Family Welfare, Public Works, Jal Shakti, Police, Food and Civil Supplies Department and Municipal Corporation Solan.
Manmohan Sharma urged the officers of all departments to ensure their presence in this programme.
