Mimansa — 2025, Children’s Literature Festival, a collaboration between Language & Culture Dept and Keekli Charitable Trust, commenced with great enthusiasm, bringing together literature, art, and creativity in a vibrant celebration.
More than 15 schools, Swaran Public School, IVY Internations, SPIPS, Monal Public School, Sacred Heart, LCTH, AHS, AHBS, Sambhota Tibetan School, GSSS Sarog, GSSS Boilaeuganj among others, are participating and we have a registration of almost 300 plus students already. They will participate in one event or the other over a period of three days. Joint Director Manjit Sharma was present during the morning sessions alpng with members of the Trust overseeing the events.
Day 1 – 18 April, showcased a wonderful array of activities that captivated the audience, ranging from literary sessions to engaging workshops. Here are the highlights:
• Opening Ceremony: The festival was inaugurated with an inspiring artist Priya Kuriyan, our Chief Guest, setting the tone for the exciting day ahead.
• Declamation Competition (Jr. class 5 to 7): Young voices took the stage in a spirited competition, showcasing their oratory skills and confidence. The Jury member were Dr Deepti Panji, Prince Abhishek and eta Thakur, all eminent names in the field of education.
• Book Session 1: Jyotsna Atre’s delightful work, The Jungle Book of Rhymes/Captain Subu, was held by Principal Vinita Sood while engaging young readers – Varahi, Amol, Atharv & Sajal – with her unique narrative style.
• Poetry Reading: Dinesh Sharma shared his poetic expressions with the young readers as they shared their original poetry with him, leaving the audience with a reflective sense of rhythm and words.
• Book Session 2: Kishan Shrimaan introduced his book देव नगरी, which was moderated by Vichlit Ajay who immersed listeners into a world of deep storytelling and mythological wonder. The young reviewers were Manohar Lal, Senha Harnot, Sajal Sharma, & Shaurya.
• Book Session 3: Preeti Sharma Aseem captivated the audience with सप्त सिंधु भारत, a rich exploration of India’s cultural and historical landscape. Her session was moderated by Vichlit Ajay and young readers were Manisha Sharma, Tarun Sharma, & Sachin Sharma
• Art Panel Discussion was led by Upasana Bisht with Priya Kuriyan who shared their insights on the evolving world of art in a thought-provoking panel, sparking lively discussions among participants. Thereafter everyone saw budding artists showcasing their creativity in an exciting and competitive environment, the participants were from Classes 2 to 4; Classes 5 to 7; Classes 8 to 10; Classes 11 & 12; College Level.
• Word Play Workshop: A unique workshop led by Alok Singh sparked creativity and linguistic fun among the participants. Twelve teams of 3 students each participated, while the same teams will compete tomorrow.
The event, filled with dynamic exchanges and expressions, sets the stage for an exciting continuation in the following days.
