Shimla, April 2025 – Mimansa 2025, a three-day literary and cultural festival organized jointly by the Language and Culture Department, Himachal Pradesh, and Keekli Charitable Trust, concluded on a high note with a thought-provoking special session. The closing discussion featured a captivating conversation between renowned mythologist and author Devdutt Pattanaik and esteemed writer Shriniwas Joshi. Their engaging dialogue delved into the role of mythology in contemporary literature and highlighted Devdutt’s contributions to children’s literature.
The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including Secretary Rakesh Kanwar, Director Dr. Pankaj Lalit, Joint Director Manjit Sharma, along with Shriniwas Joshi, Dr. Usha Bande, and other notable guests, parents, and students, who were present to support and celebrate the literary spirit of the event.
The morning session stood out with a heartwarming dramatized reading of the children’s book Koko and Nanhi Nav. Young readers Snehal, Dhruv, Sraagvi, and Aardhya brought the story to life with their expressive performances, adding a tender and imaginative touch to the narrative. This session also underscored the importance of reading habits among children. Under the guidance of Sohaila Kapur, who conducted special practice sessions in the days leading up to the event, the children honed their performance and reading skills. Her mentorship significantly enriched the experience for both participants and audience.
Another highlight of the day was the session featuring two delightful children’s books by Dr. Sona Sharma — Mandeep Meets Mandeep and The Adventures of Boonda and Boondi. Moderated by Mimanshi Chaudhry, the session saw young reviewers Amritha Doegar, Srisha, Mrinali, and Nivedita sharing their insights and reflections on the stories, offering a fresh and youthful perspective on contemporary children’s literature.
The festival concluded with an award ceremony, where all winners were honored with tokens of appreciation and cash awards, recognizing their talent and dedication.
Mimansa 2025 proved to be yet another successful chapter in promoting literature, creativity, and expression among young minds. With an eye toward the future, the organizers expressed their hope to continue this enriching journey and are already looking forward to Mimansa Season 4 next year.
