The issue of MLA Local Area Development Funds sparked a heated discussion during the ongoing session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur questioned the state government over the delay in releasing the remaining installments of the MLA funds. He stated that only two installments have been released so far and urged the government to disburse the remaining amount as approved in the budget.
Responding to the concerns, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the government is reviewing the matter in view of the current financial situation of Himachal Pradesh. He assured the House that discussions will be held to decide the feasible release of funds.
The debate highlighted growing political tensions during the budget session, with both sides engaging in sharp exchanges over financial management and development allocations.
