Moksh, Shoolini University’s much-awaited annual cultural festival, returned after a three-year hiatus due to pandemic covid restrictions, and opened with enthusiastic participation by students.
The main performers of the opening day were Naati King and renowned Himachali folk singer Kuldeep Sharma along with singer Ajay Bharwadwaj, whose songs got everyone dancing and applauding. They sang a variety of songs and got the audience to dance to them.
The ‘Battle of Naati’ event was held on the first day, and Shoolini University emerged as the winner, and Ponta Sahib College won the runner up trophy.
The crowning of Mr. and Ms. Moksh was another highlight of the day, with Durtiman Sonowal and Pratika Kalyan being crowned the winners respectively. Himanshu and Kaustubhi were also crowned Mr. Personality and Ms. Personality, respectively. The ramp walk for Mr. and Ms. Moksh was judged by Mrs. Ashoo Khosla and Mr. Manshu. Shoolini University’s Saksham Dance Club and Himshobla Club also performed.
The 3-day festival began with the lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Mr. Bhisham Singh Thakur, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Solan, along with Shoolini Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla, SILB President Mrs Saroj Khosla, Dean Students Welfare Mrs Poonam Nanda, Chief Learning Officer Mrs Ashoo Khosla, and Prof. Kesari Singh.
Prof Khosla reminded everyone of the various accolades the university has achieved in recent times and declared the festival open. He also expressed his happiness about the recent rankings of the university.
Dean Students Welfare Mrs. Poonam Nanda, the event organiser, appreciated the enthusiasm and dedication of students and applauded Naati King Kuldeep Sharma’s performance. She further added that the Moksh Festival is a platform that gives students a chance to showcase their talent and caliber. The Battle of Bands, a show by the Abhigya Band, a fashion show, and star night by Bharat Bass Festival are the events lined up for day two.
