Shoolini University’s Center of Excellence in Energy Science and Technology is conducting an online campaign from December 14 to December 20, to encourage students, staff, faculty, and residents to pledge to conserve energy in Shoolini Township.
The campaign is part of National Energy Conservation Day, which is celebrated on December 14, by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) Ministry of Power to conserve energy, mitigate climate change impact, and spread awareness .
Prof. P.K. Khosla, Chancellor Shoolini University, administered the pledge to all faculty, students, employees, and residents of Shoolini University to follow energy conservation and environmental protection measures.
According to Prof. SS Chandel, Director of the Center of Excellence in Energy Science and Technology, the campaign’s objectives,are to reduce energy consumption by everyone through Energy Conservation Measures to reduce the university’s electricity bill; increase the use of renewable energy sources; use smart auto-cut sensors; regularly monitor energy conservation measures on campus; and make efficient use of nighttime lighting by turning off some lights,he added.
