The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University, celebrated National Pharmacy Week, with a focus on promoting safe medication practices and raising public health awareness. The event highlighted the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare delivery and patient care.
Dr. Raveen Chauhan, Program Coordinator, and Assistant Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University, delivered a lecture on “Patient Counseling and Safe Medication Practices.” Speaking to pharmacy students, Dr. Chauhan stressed the importance of patient counseling in enhancing medication adherence and improving health outcomes.
A health awareness campaign was also led by faculty members and pharmacy students. The campaign reached out to the Sultanpur Panchayat and nearby villages, where the team met with the Panchayat Pradhan and engaged with community members. Through door-to-door interactions, they raised awareness about the importance of safe and effective medication use and provided lifestyle modification tips to encourage healthy living.
Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Kapoor, Dean School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, expressed his views on the importance of National Pharmacy Week, shared that it serves as a platform to appreciate the varied responsibilities pharmacists undertake, including patient counseling, drug therapy management, research, and advancing pharmaceutical science.
