Marking National Sports Day, Shoolini University inaugurated two new international-level synthetic badminton courts, bringing the total number of synthetic badminton courts on campus to three.
The new facilities were inaugurated by Chancellor Prof. P. K. Khosla in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla, Director Operations (Retd.) Brigadier S. D. Mehta, and Associate Dean, Student Welfare, Prof. Neeraj Gandotra.
The inauguration was part of the University’s National Sports Day celebrations aimed at promoting sports, fitness and the holistic development of students. National Sports Day is observed annually on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, whose contribution to Indian sport continues to inspire generations of athletes.
The addition of the two synthetic badminton courts marks another significant step towards strengthening the University’s sporting infrastructure. The international-level facilities are expected to provide students with an enhanced playing environment, enabling them to train more effectively, sharpen their skills and prepare for competitive sporting events.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla said the new courts were an important addition to the University’s sports facilities and would encourage students to pursue sports with greater commitment.
“Sports play an important role in developing discipline, teamwork, perseverance and a competitive spirit among young people. These new facilities will provide our students with better opportunities to train, compete and excel,” Prof. Khosla said.
Assistant Director, Sports, Vikrant Chauhan said, “We are steadily enhancing our sports infrastructure to encourage greater student participation in sporting activities and provide emerging athletes with quality facilities for training and competition,”
The event concluded with the closing remarks by Associate Dean, Student Welfare, Prof. Neeraj Gandotra, he emphasised the significance of the new facilities in nurturing sporting talent and promoting a culture of fitness and excellence on campus.
The new courts are expected to further boost sporting activities on campus and provide students with greater opportunities to train, compete and pursue excellence in badminton alongside their academic pursuits.
