Meeting held on National Tuberculosis Eradication Program
Chief Medical Officer Solan Dr. Ajay Pathak directed the Block Medical Officers to organize as many camps as possible for the examination of tuberculosis. Dr. Ajay Pathak chaired a meeting held here today on the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program.
Dr. Ajay Pathak said that the objective of the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program is to identify tuberculosis patients on time, treat them completely and prevent it. He said that under the program, tuberculosis tests, treatment, and medicines are provided free of cost. He said that financial assistance is also provided to tuberculosis patients under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana during treatment.
He directed the Block Medical Officers to ensure the organization of camps for tuberculosis examination in their respective jurisdictions. He said that it should be ensured that diet kits are given to tuberculosis patients and they are monitored under 99 dots.
The Chief Medical Officer urged the people to ensure that they get themselves examined at the nearest health center if they feel symptoms of tuberculosis.
On this occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr. Roksh Panwar, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Yogesh, all block medical officers and other doctors were present.
