A young Congress leader died tragically after being caught in a landslide in Sundarnagar of Mandi district, which has sent shockwaves in the area. The incident took place in Jangambagh late in the evening, where heavy debris and stones fell from the hill due to continuous rain. His body was recovered late at night buried in the debris, which was present near the scooty.
In this landslide, 4 people of the same family, Gurpreet Singh alias Sonu, his wife, 3-year-old daughter and Gurpreet’s mother died due to being buried under the debris, while the owner of the house Shanti Devi and another person along with youth Congress leader Rahul Mandayal also became victims of the accident. According to the information received, the landslide was so big that all the people came under its grip and died on the spot.
As soon as the accident was reported, the local police and rescue teams immediately reached the spot. After a lot of effort, the bodies were pulled out of the debris. There is a wave of mourning in the entire area due to this incident. Rahul Mandyal was a popular and active leader, whose death is a big loss for the area.
