Shoolini University started its new academic session with an online induction and orientation programme. A detailed overview was given to the students about the online education system.
Vice Chancellor Prof P K Khosla introduced the new online session and said that university is all set to conduct online education for all students. He said it would include practicals as well as SPRINT (a skill development programme), to be conducted virtually. Emphasis of online learning will be on engaging and interacting with students and make them creative even in this tough time of COVID-19. He said we will nurture students and help them to get jobs through online technology.
“Our placement was nearly 100 per cent in the previous semester and also we are having highest research data among the country, now through online learning, we will make sure that our students get the best year ahead”, he added.
PRO -VC Prof Atul Khosla introduced New Education Policy and elaborated Shoolini University’s objectives regarding new learning experience. He said we will make sure to bring best from the technology and make a world class learning experience.
There will be more flexibility, as student will be able to do minors along with major subjects, students will undergo exchange program as soon as everything gets normal, practical training will be provided to the faculty and students will also learn by synchronised and Asynchronised method and will be provided with the best content.
Ms Poonam Nanda, Dean Student Welfare, welcomed students and gave them an insight of upcoming online semester. She said we were able to conduct previous Semester successfully on time, so now we are ready for the upcoming semester as well.
Meanwhile, the day also marked the inauguration of Dr YS Parmar e-studio by Pro Chancellor Mr Satish Anand to celebrate the 114th birth anniversary of the architect and first chief minister of Himachal Pradesh.
The e-studio is one of the 50 such e-studios being created in the campus to meet the requirement of teaching online. Each of the e-studios would have Internet and Ethernet connectivity to deliver lectures online. Some of these huts can also be used for interactions among small groups when normalcy gets restored.
Prof Khosla said steps are also being taken to further strengthen the Internet connectivity in view of likelihood of blended learning even after the campus reopens.
Later Mr Anand also inaugurated a Van Mahotsav to honour the memory of the late chief minister. Over 1,000 saplings would be planted during the Vanmahotsav.
