One vacant post of minister can be filled before the celebration of 2 years of the Congress government led by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. This matter was discussed from the state secretariat till Oakover on Monday. The Chief Minister himself has indicated to fill the ministerial post, for which the final permission from the high command is awaited. One name of CPS Sanjay Awasthi, close to the Chief Minister, is also coming to the fore in the race for ministerial post. However, keeping in mind the political equations, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts may get preference.
Sanjay Ratna’s name has been coming forward for the post of minister and chief whip from Kangra district for a long time. Apart from this, if the matter of making any woman MLA a minister comes up, then Chief Minister’s wife and Dehra MLA Kamlesh Thakur can get a place in it. Kamlesh Thakur is the MLA from Kangra, the biggest political district along with the woman.
Apart from filling 1 post of Minister and 1 post of Chief Whip, some appointments are also to be made in the Corporation Board, for which Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is contesting the by-election from Wayanad Lok Sabha and the assembly election process to be held in some states of the country is completed. One can also wait for it to happen.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu held a meeting with his ministers before leaving for Hamirpur tour, in which Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was also present. In the meeting, the Chief Minister has asked all the ministers to establish communication with the people through the Government Village Door programme. He gave these instructions while reviewing the departmental work by holding a meeting with the cabinet members. He said that the economy of the state has strengthened strongly, the results of which are visible on the ground. The state government is trying to extend the benefits of development to the last person of the society.
Ensure successful implementation of government’s flagship schemes
The Chief Minister asked the ministers to ensure successful implementation of the government’s flagship schemes. He said that he himself is monitoring the successful implementation of these schemes.
