Shimla November 22, 2024
Congress MLA from Arki Sanjay Awasthi has said in a statement issued from Shimla today that BJP is an anti-Himachal Pradesh party. Earlier the slogan of BJP was, hit the statehood with a thud and now their new slogan is hit the interests of the state with a thud. He said that the leaders of Himachal Pradesh BJP have become victims of political bankruptcy due to the greed for power and today they are neither concerned about the people of the state nor about the interests of the state. He said that for the last five years, Jairam Thakur slept while being in power and ignored the interests of the state and did not do any work. He said that for the entire five years, BJP has done nothing except trying to mislead the people of the state by citing the double engine government. He said that the previous BJP government had not properly advocated the interests of the state in the court and now they were giving undue importance to the court decisions and misleading the public. He said that Jai Ram Thakur, while holding the post of Chief Minister, did not do the work that he should have done in the interest of the people of the state and now he is trying to become the biggest supporter of Himachal Pradesh. Whereas the present state government is making every possible effort to safeguard the interests of the state and for this the fight is being fought on various fronts.
Awasthi said that even during the disaster, when the entire state government was working at ground zero to help the affected families, BJP leaders were busy making political fortunes. Not only this, when the state government declared the disaster in the state as a national disaster and brought a proposal in the Assembly to get a special relief package for the affected families, the BJP MLAs ran away from the House instead of supporting this proposal. He said that Himachal Pradesh has sent claims worth Rs 10,000 crore due to last year’s disaster to the Center as per the rules of the Central Government, but Himachal BJP leaders are trying to stop that too. Whereas the present state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, without the help of the Central Government, gave a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore to rehabilitate the affected 23 thousand families.
MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that Jairam Thakur and other state BJP leaders are repeatedly going to Delhi and creating obstacles to stop the assistance from the Centre. He said that after the failure of Operation Lotus in Himachal Pradesh, BJP leaders are struggling like fish. In this confusion, conspiracies are being hatched to defame the popular Congress government of the state
