Shimla
The NHAI team visited the impacted areas on Tuesday to evaluate the harm done to the residents of Shimla and Solan districts as a result of the Kalka-Shimla four-lane construction project. Under the supervision of Himachal Kisan Sabha President Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar, the local people discussed their difficulties. Hiranand Shandil, the former Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Kot, was also in attendance. The group listened to the issues faced by the impacted residents of Anandpur and Shoghi Panchayat in Shimla district, as well as Basha in Solan district.
The company’s working style was the primary topic of discussion during this period. There have been accusations that the business that NHAI outsourced the job to has not completed it in accordance with the standards. The locals’ land has been harmed since the road was cut at 80 and 90 degrees rather than 70. Numerous individuals have not been compensated in any way.
Due to the infrequent meetings of the committee led by the DC, many also expressed concerns about how the state government operated. As a result, the construction process was arbitrary. In other words, because there was no lack of cooperation at any level, some claimed that in addition to NHAI, the state government and the corporate business performing the building work were also at fault. In addition, residents asked that the local three-link highways be converted to four-lane roads. In a same vein, people whose homes and lands have been threatened need to get full recompense. On Wednesday, team members will go to Dhali, Mahli, Pujarli, Malyana, Chamyana, and Kot Geha.
