Shimla 07 December. Nikhil of Junga has brought glory to the state and his region by securing the third position in the All India Acro Festival-23 of Para Gliding held recently in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Nikhil has been awarded a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy by the organizers. Let us tell you that his passion for para gliding has made Nikhil a hero at the young age of 21 years. Nikhil told that two types of competitions were organized in Akron Festival-23 organized in Uttarakhand. In which acro and civ competition was held. Civ is a very tough competition in which many tasks are given in the air which requires skill to complete. This competition was evaluated by an international pilot from Turkey.
It is noteworthy that these days Nikhil is taking tourists to the sky through tandem flight in para gliding at Manali Dobi in Kullu. In return of which they are earning Rs 800 per flight. Nikhil is originally a resident of Junga adjacent to the capital. His father Shailendra Thakur is serving in Himachal Home Guard while mother Anju Thakur is a housewife. Nikhil has completed his education till 12th in Junga and is now pursuing BA Private. He told that flying freely in the sky like birds was his hobby since childhood. To fulfill this, Nikhil completed a one month basic course under the leadership of Prashant Thakur at Anti Gravity Adventure Institute, Beed Billing Kangra in the year 2019. After that Nikhil chose para gliding as his career. Recently, Nikhil also participated in the paragliding competition in the flying festival held in Junga. In which he got 19th rank out of 50. Nikhil told that he has also done an advanced course in paragliding and in future he will continue his studies along with paragliding. Nikhil has given the credit of his success to his parents and teachers.
